The basic definition of matter is twofold. It consists of mass and exists as a solid, liquid, gas, or plasma. It is also a subject of concern, feeling, or action, as in: what is the matter? Matter can be mostly verified by the senses and/or the sciences of physics and medicine. As for the unseen feelings and actions, they are subjective.
For instance, although you cannot see or touch a hurtful saying, slander, or mental abuse, your soul sure feels it! Now, let's assume you just had a complete medical, and what you had been feeling, fearing and worrying about is now a matter of fact. Your soul knew and felt it. Now the doctor has confirmed that you have a serious illness. It has a name, a medical diagnosis, and physical symptoms. The facts are in.
There is no more guessing or denying it. You now have the truth about the matter. The dictionary defines truth as a fact that either has been verified or is generally accepted as authentic. Therefore, it's a fact that your medical diagnosis is the truth, right? Now, let's have a look at the Biblical definition of Truth. Yes, that word is spelled with a capital t.
It's not just a word, nor does it merely describe facts or matter. It is none other than the person of Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life! (John 14: 6) Jesus is also the Word (John 1: 1), and the Word was made flesh (John 1: 14) God, who is spirit, took on physical flesh.
That means Truth is both matter and spirit. "As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on his name." (John 1: 12) Have you acknowledged that Jesus came in the flesh, died and rose again? He did it all so that you also could live in the Spirit. Through His death on the cross and resurrection of His physical body, Jesus released the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2: 4) The moment you confess that He bore your sins on the cross, your spirit gets ignited by the Holy Spirit, and you are born again; this time spiritually! (John 3: 5-8) The Truth states that when you're born again, you are no longer in the flesh but in the Spirit as the Holy Spirit lives in you.
(Rom. 8: 9) Therefore, if the Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, dwell in you, he will also bring alive your physical body! (Rom. 8: 11) Jesus, bore your sins on the cross, and by his stripes you were healed! (1 Pet. 2: 24) He forgives all your sins, heals all your diseases, redeems your life from destruction, fills you with love, and provides nourishment so that even your youth is renewed like the eagle's! (Ps. 103: 3-5).
Whose report do you believe? Do you believe your doctor's facts which cause grief, fear and worry? Or do you have faith in the Truth, which states that you ARE already healed? Your medical condition is true and factual. However, if God says that you were healed through Jesus' wounds, and you believe it, then it is so! The bottom line is your faith! "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world; and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he who overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?" (1 John 5: 4-5) Be encouraged, my friend! The more you study the Word, the more you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free! (John 8: 31-32) As you meditate on the Word, He will reveal Himself to you! "It's not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord" (Zech.
4: 6).
